Becoming & Making Disciples Part 4: "Encouraging One Another"
Acts 2:46-47 says, "And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved."
Senior Pastor Travis Tullis reminded us to continue "Encouraging One Another" as we stay in fellowship and community with fellow disciples in God’s Kingdom. The focus scriptures are 2 Timothy 2:1-2 and Acts 2:42-47.
As we grow into disciples and learn to disciple others, we must remember that discipleship is a relational process. As we fellowship with others, through hospitality, such as breaking of bread, this relationship, along with maintaining sound doctrine, allows us to cultivate a Christ-centered community. This can lead us to strong disciples with solid Christian relationships.
In fact, Jesus’s disciples followed all these things, which we see in the book of Acts, with the Apostle Paul, who encouraged his spiritual son Timothy. 2 Timothy 2:1-2 says, "Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."
Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and for reminding us as we fellowship with one another, to encourage each other through love and service.
