Sunday Service - “Higher Together: Growing Into Mature Fruit”

Jan 25, 2026    Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis

John 15:4 teaches that growth comes from connection, not effort, as a branch only bears fruit when attached to the vine. This aligns with Senior Pastor Travis Tullis’s series “Forward and Higher Together: A Call To Fruitfulness.” In the part 4 series “Higher Together: Growing Into Mature Fruit,” the primary scripture references are Colossians 1:9–10, John 15:4–5, and Ephesians 4:15–16.

In Colossians 1:9-10, this verse reveals God’s desire for fruitful living: a worthy walk, a fruitful life, and increasing knowledge of God. “For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” In fact, fruitfulness and maturity are inseparable.

As a result, Ephesians 4:15-16 encourages us to understand that growth happens when believers are connected, encouraged, accountable, and built together. “But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.” Furthermore, isolation stunts maturity, but community strengthens it, which allows believers to see that God’s design for spiritual growth is relational.

Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together, and for reminding us that we must become fruitful image bearers to fulfill God’s original plan in our lives.
