Sunday Service - “Borrowed Light or True Light: Why Christ Alone is Sufficient”

Dec 28, 2025    Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” Matthew 6:22-23. This scripture coincides with the powerful message from Senior Pastor Travis Tullis: “Borrowed Light or True Light: Why Christ Alone is Sufficient.” The focus scriptures are Matthew 6:22-23, John 8:12, and Colossians 2:6-10.

As Christians, we find our completeness in Christ. He is our unity; He defines our identity; He empowers our worth; He directs our resources; He gives us purpose; He inspires our creativity; and He anchors our faith. This truth calls us to ensure that when we center our hearts and minds on Christ, our actions and motives reflect His true light and love. Serving with genuine intentions means focusing solely on pleasing God. By seeking God’s Kingdom, we join in overcoming darkness and demonstrate the sufficiency and transformative power of Christ's light, which is the everlasting light that does not burn out.

Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together, and for reminding us that we cannot overcome the darkness in our lives without relying on Christ, who gives us clarity to dispel confusion and strengthens us to walk in true faith.
