Sunday Service - “Awaiting the Bridegroom: Hope in His Coming”
Isaiah 9:6 powerfully proclaims the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” This scripture aligns with Senior Pastor Travis Tullis's message, “Awaiting the Bridegroom: Hope in His Coming,” which invites us to respond with gratitude and joy as we reflect on both Christ’s first coming and look forward to His promised return for His Church. The focus scriptures are 1 Thessalonians 5:16, Isaiah 9:6-7, Hebrews 4:15-16, Matthew 28:19-20, Revelation 22:12 and John 1:14.
Isaiah 9:6 reveals five distinct aspects of Jesus’s nature that give us hope and reason to celebrate. The first attribute refers to Jesus as Wonderful, highlighting His miraculous works. He is also described as a Counselor, offering wise guidance, a Mighty God with unlimited power, an Everlasting Father who cares deeply for His children and loves us unconditionally, and the Prince of Peace who provides calm, even in the midst of turmoil.
Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together, and for reminding us that as the Church, we are called to be the true bride—faithfully preparing for the return of our Bridegroom, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
