2 Timothy 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

To fully benefit from God's Word, we must prepare our hearts to receive it and allow it to become the ultimate authority in our lives. When we apply God's Word in our lives, it helps us stay on the right path, keeping us out of trouble. However, the cares of this world can distract us from living by God's Word. Jesus warns us of this in Mark 4:19, which says: "And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful."
