Sunday Service - “Scoop the Poop” Part 2

Nov 9, 2025    Pastor Dr. Alex Stephens

Pastor Dr. Alex Stephens continues to challenge us with a powerful message: if we desire an increase in blessings, we must also be willing to manage the responsibilities that come with them. When we refuse to do the necessary work, we are incongruent —out of alignment with what’s required to achieve our goals. This principle applies not only to life in general but also specifically to marriage and singleness. In part two of the ongoing series, “Scoop the Poop,” the focus scriptures are Ephesians 5:22–25 and Proverbs 24:10.

Pastor Dr. Stephens uses a powerful metaphor to explain the spiritual responsibility in both seasons of life: Marriage is like grass—it must be watered and maintained regularly to thrive. If singleness is the path that you are on, you should follow the map of God’s word that will provide direction, helping you recognize where you are and how to move toward where God is calling you.

Whether married or single, we must recognize that both paths require intentional effort and perseverance. As a result, adversity is inevitable, but we must not lose heart. Instead, we are called to remain faithful in our roles—whether as husbands, wives, or singles, devoted to God. Proverbs 24:10 says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.”

Thank you, Pastor Dr. Stephens, for delivering this strong word from the Lord. Your message encourages us to move forward and higher together in unity and strength, reminding us to count the cost of our commitments while remaining faithful stewards of the blessings God has given us.
