Sunday Service - “Awaiting the Bridegroom: Hope in His Coming” Part 4
Revelation 19:7-8 reveals that the church is the true bride of Christ, and the church must be ready for our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ. “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.” This scripture coincides with the ongoing message from Senior Pastor Travis Tullis: “Awaiting the Bridegroom: Hope in His Coming.” The focus scriptures are Revelation 19:7-8, Numbers 14:1-4, and Luke 1:38.
In the book of Numbers, we observe how the Israelites' fear led them into a state of unbelief, which ultimately left them unprepared to receive God's promise. Their lack of faith left many unable to enter the promised land, leaving them behind in the wilderness. This narrative stands as a clear parallel for us today: just as the Israelites were called to readiness and trust, we are also admonished to be prepared for the return of our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ.
In contrast, Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a remarkable example of faith and obedience. Despite facing circumstances that seemed impossible from a human perspective, Mary chose to accept and believe God's promise. Her willingness to trust God opened the way for her to witness the miraculous become reality through the birth of Jesus. By embracing God's word and surrendering herself to His plan, Mary experienced firsthand that what is impossible with man is indeed possible with God.
Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together, and for reminding us that as the Church, we are called to be the true bride—faithfully preparing for the return of our Bridegroom, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
