"The Divine Paradox: The Fear and Love of God" PART 2
Fearing God means demonstrating a holy reverence that allows wisdom to flourish in our lives. As Proverbs 1:7 states: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
In continuation of the series “The Divine Paradox: The Fear and Love of God,” Senior Pastor Travis Tullis leads us through a deeper understanding of what it means to walk in both awe and intimacy with our Creator. The focus scriptures are Isaiah 41:8-10, Galatians 3:29, and Psalm 34:9-17.
When we cultivate the right kind of fear of God, we begin to live a life marked by obedience, worship, comfort, strength, and freedom from anxiety. This holy fear is rooted in placing Christ at the center of all things. However, when Christ is not at the center, it often leads to an allegiance to something or someone else, which is a sign of unhealthy fear. In contrast, a healthy fear of the Lord leads to a sacred reverence, empowering us to walk boldly in everything God has called us to do — without hesitation or fear.
Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together, and for encouraging us to understand we must have a healthy balance of fear and love for our Heavenly Father, so that we may flourish and fulfill our calling on this side of eternity.
