"A World of Iniquity"
Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
Through scriptures, James 3:2-12, Psalm 141:3, Proverbs 12:18,16:27,18:21, 21:23, 26:18-22, and 26:28, Pastor Elvis Jackson tells us that as Christians, corrupt communication should not proceed out of our mouths.
Sometimes, we allow anger to take over our thoughts, impacting what comes out of our mouths. The book of James explains in scriptures 3:2-12 how our tongue can create a world of iniquity because of a defiled heart. James 3: 6 says, "And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell."
If we want to know what is hiding in our hearts, we should carefully consider what our tongues are saying. "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath," James 1:19.
Thank you, Pastor Jackson, for giving us this powerful message from God. This will help us go forward and higher together by letting us know that we should be merciful with our words, just as our Father is merciful unto us, His children.
