Sunday Worship - "Hope of God

May 25, 2025    Elder Charlie Davidson

Psalm 42:1 says, "As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God."

Elder Charlie Davidson reminded us we must have "Hope In God." Our focus scriptures are Psalm 42:1-5 and Jeremiah 2:12-13.

"My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday." Psalm 42: 2-5. These scriptures remind us how we can continue to have "Hope in God" with our fellow believers.

Sometimes, when we are going through difficult times, we feel alone, but God is always with us as He promised never to leave us, and He reveals Himself through His Holy Spirit, encouraging us to stay the course. He hears our cries and knows what we need. Therefore, we must not forsake what He has provided for us, availing ourselves to His fountain of living waters when we are going through our drought.

"For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water." Jeremiah 2:12-13. We must stay connected to the fountain of living waters, for it is through this connection that we find our true restoration and security.

Thank you, Elder Davidson, for giving us this word from the Lord. It will allow us to go forward and higher together, instilling in us unwavering hope in God and as we partake of His living water we can have true fellowship with the community of faith.
