Sunday Service - “A Mind to Build” Part 3
In part three of A Mind to Build, titled “A Mind to Lead—Builders, Not Just Benefactors,” Senior Pastor Travis Tullis reminded us on Father’s Day that leadership begins when someone says, “I will take responsibility.” The message is supported by Nehemiah 4:14, Joshua 24:14-15, Isaiah 3:1-5, Isaiah 3:12, Psalm 78:4-7, and Mark 10:45.
The importance of Godly leadership becomes very clear in Isaiah 3:1-5 and Isaiah 3:12. These scriptures describe a world suffering from the absence of spiritually mature leadership. When righteous leadership steps back, immature leadership takes over, creating confusion and disorder.
However, Jesus provides the perfect model of leadership in Mark 10:45. He taught that true greatness is found in serving others, declaring that the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. Ultimately, Biblical leadership is not about position; it is about taking responsibility for what God has entrusted to our care; it’s about being the greatest servant.
Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and for reminding us that we are called to be fruitful image bearers. We can now understand how to develop a mind to build as we become people who bare lasting fruit in God’s Kingdom community.
