Sunday Service- “Fruitful Through the Cross” Part 3

Mar 22, 2026    Sr. Pastor Travis M. Tullis

The root system of a tree provides stability against adverse conditions, corresponding to how faith, as referenced in Colossians 2:6-7, supports believers by helping them become grounded in their beliefs, pursue a steadfast walk with Christ, and through instruction in scripture, develop gratitude. In the third part of the “Fruitful Through the Cross” series, entitled “Abide and Multiply,” Senior Pastor Travis Tullis discusses how spiritual fruitfulness stems from remaining connected to Jesus Christ, who is the symbol of the vine that is the source of the tree producing its fruit. The message draws on key scriptural references, including Colossians 2:6-7, Psalm 1:1-6, Proverbs 27:17, Ephesians 2:8-10, and Jeremiah 17:7-10.

Branches separated from a tree's main roots will eventually wither due to loss of connection with their source. Similarly, individuals may drift away from their spiritual foundation and faith community when they cease practices such as prayer, scripture reading, and active participation. This gradual disconnection can lead to a withering away from the vine that sustains our spiritual growth. Jesus calls us to bear fruit by staying connected to Him and loving others. In response, God looks into our hearts, and with His grace, helps us grow in fruitfulness.

Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and for reminding us that we are called to be fruitful image bearers and fulfill God’s original design. Through the cross, by denying ourselves and learning to surrender to His will, we become people who bare lasting fruit in His Kingdom Community.
