Sunday Worship Service Becoming & Making Disciples Part 3 “Rooted In Christ"
Colossians 2:6-7 says, "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving."
Senior Pastor Travis Tullis encouraged us to continue establishing "Strong Roots in Christ." The focus scriptures are John 15:1-8, 1 Corinthians 4:15-17, and Colossians 2:6-7, as well as Psalm 1:3.
Strong roots in Christ lead to fruitful lives, but this requires us to learn how to follow Jesus through our actions and words. 1 Corinthians 4:15-16, "For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus, I have begotten you through the gospel. Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me." When we humble ourselves before God, He will exalt us in due time, as disciples, in fatherhood, and through spiritual growth if we follow His commandments and stay connected to Jesus by abiding in Him.
Thank you, Senior Pastor Tullis, for leading us forward and higher together and reminding us that we must be rooted and grounded in the Lord through His word and stay connected to Him through prayer. As we do this, we can become true disciples, serving our communities as Christ intended.
